Spacesick Nintendo Game: New Update!
Well, here it is! As promised. Just a simple demo to show my newest updates. I implemented some enemies and the bullet feature that Tonypa shows in his awesome tutorials- but this is just temporary. I have big plans that could actually make this game fun and unique. BIG PLANS! :D
- Added an idle animation (wait a few seconds to see what he does!)
- Added enemies and game over function
- Added bullet feature (hit shift to shoot)
- Started working on some simple tiles and maps
- (edit) Just fixed that little flicker that was showing up at the bottom of the screen

Spacesick NES Game: First Music Test
Hey peeps! As potentially-embarrassing* as it may be, I put together a little sampler of some of the tunes I've been working on for my Nintendo game. I don't know how GOOD they sound, but I'm sure having a blast here in 1990. And I'm free a little later if any of you want to come hang out too! *sips Mr. Pibb and pumps up Reeboks*
I'm not a musician by any stretch of the imagination, so any thoughts or advice could really help! Thanks, guys! :D
* = Yet I feel perfectly fine mentioning the fact that I got all of this text by typing each word into the Legend of Zelda save screen and then taking screenshots. What a world!

Scroll Test for Nes Game
Holy cow! I can't believe I can move my own little Nintendo game character around already. :D Thanks again to the peeps who made the tutorials I mentioned yesterday! This is a real learning experience, and without the tutorials I'd be nowhere.
This originally had music and sound effects, but embedding the file in html makes it all lag and I don't know why. So maybe tomorrow I can show you some of thetotally weak totally awesome level music I've been messing around with! omgnowai!

Basic Movement Test for NES Game
How exciting!
Firstly, a big thanks to the tile-based tutorials from Tonypa and OutsideofSociety, which I'm using here! I edited the code and programmed my own stuff into the basic platform tutorial to get the animations and directions right, and also probably made everything more complicated than it should be.
In the coming weeks, I hope to work out the bugs and greatly improve functionality, while creating a Nintendo-like platform game that's all my own! How exciting! Wait I already said that.
And a Bonus Movie too! How exciting! :D

Making Logos is Fun, by Mitch Ansara (Spacesick Books, 1972)
I just whipped up this silly nod to classic graphic design books (most notably this one and this reissue) because I realized I actually have money to spend on
I'm on a buying spree. Can any of you guys recommend some good vintage design, logo, and art books to check out? Or do you know of a good place to pick up some used copies? The older and more thumbed-through, the better!

Spacesick NES Game Idea
Hey kids! I always thought it would be fun to make up my own NES game, and I'm finally getting around to it. I figure by doing just a little bit of the music, box art, instruction manual, and sprites every day for the MSCED project, something might actually come of it! Maybe even a little playable level, or whatever my limited programming skills will allow.
I whipped up this temporary title screen just to get the idea OUT there. It's not exactly NES-like, though. Back in a few days, nerds!
