WINTERTASTIC new T-shirt design!

I liked my cutesy 2 sided T-shirt design "If It Lands In My Yard Again, I'm Keepin' It" so much, I ALSO had it printed up as a 2 part christmas print for my mom. I hung them both on either side of the same wall and it looks badass. trust me. why would I lie?!

If It Lands In My Yard Again, I'm Keepin' It - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

click the pics for a larger view! and if you've got a sec, click on the image up there. voting and leaving a positive or even completely innocuous comment on the design submission page could REALLY help the chances of this getting printed! not to mention help boost my already-inflated ego 1 self-esteem point at a time. but I mean. you don't have to or nuthin. I mean this IS America.*

* = it so is.

Every Little Step

I uploaded a simple animation test which I used to try and figure out what the hell I'm doing for this upcoming short.

No, Greedy Kitty!

following the overwhelming success of 2006's "Food With Faces: The Movie" and the Nobel Prize nomination I just received on Halloween for Best Pwnage of High School Kids in Crappy Costumes Who Have the Fuckin Nerve to Walk Up to ME With an Attitude and Are Too Damn Old to be Out Trick or Treating Anyway so They Totally Deserved to Get Laughed At By a Group of Drunk Twentysomethings Passing Out Candy, Spacesick Entertainment proudly presents "No, Greedy Kitty!"

Happy Halloween, boys and ghouls!

NO, I'm not one of those people who think the whole world wants to hear the stupid fucking mixtape that they painstakingly put together after the breakup with their significant other/boss who decided it would be best for everyone involved if they just took the job offer to be night shift manager at the Big Boy two towns over. even though I'm fucking awesome. FACT! :D hey I was already making a copy for one of my friends, plus I just wanted an excuse to photoshop my logo onto a pumpkin. woohoo!

Collect All 20!

no way! I totally say that!

this is practice for a huge multi-artist collaboration that I plan on asking a few people to take part in sometime in the next few months. then it'll hopefully grow from there.

to give you an idea of how long I've wanted to do a cool retro sticker like this... my computer says I scanned in the original Garbage Pail Kids and Good Times trading cards I used for it on april 16, 2006!

Thursday, October 18, 2007

I left my wallet in my other fanny pack.

practicing a 5 minute sketch for Linzie Hunter's 5 minute doodle! group.

inspired by the random 5 minute long song I picked to time me (Spacehog - In the Meantime), and one of my friend nate's catchprases. and to lol @ the 90's even MORE, guess what song came on right afterwards... 4 Non Blondes - What's Up. shyeah! it was the bomb!

And I've never met a girl like you before.

I'm tryin! I didn't redraw everything over and over again, I didn't obsess over wonky placement, I just drew lines and said go with it.

I pulled this chick out of nowhere, but it probably would be better if I drew from some actual reference for once. sooo... who wants to volunteer to be my model? huh? jk. but seriously. that would rock.

Monday, October 08, 2007

Well then tell them to stay out of the way!

this is the bottom half of the front of a wallet collaboration with Justin White for Tinymeat.com. it's taken me way to long to get this done because everyone else's battle wallets just kick so much ass and I want ours to be fucking EPIC!

my inside sketch is at the same level of completion and they probably collectively need about 10-12 more hours before we can have a complete wallet mock-up. I'm slow.

Frank Wastelayer: Private Detective is a character of mine and an adult cartoon idea that I've had for well over two years now. Frank's an aging, once-great, down-on-his-luck warrior who's given a second chance at fame and thrust back into the world of heroism. he's basically Conan meets 70's Hanna-Barbera mystery show, and combines my favorite elements of classic fantasy art, cartoons, video games, sword & sorcrey flicks, and dusty old pulp novels. and if given the chance, I am so ready to pitch this badboy to Adult Swim. do YOU happen to know anybody I should talk to?

Sacred Heartbreaker or "Every Little Thing She Does is Black Magick"

it may not look bad-ass yet, but it will! I don't know why I started drawing this; I just do what the demons living in my Dio records tell me to. now they're telling me to draw a baby elephant riding a giraffe.

Everybody's Working In Progress for the Weekend!

"Halloween 1983" wakka wakka wakka!

FUCKIN A! girls and their boobs are a lot easier to draw when I actually have them in front of me. but when that happens, the only thing further from my mind than drawing is that episode of Saved By the Bell where the gang spends the night in a sporting goods store at the mall in order to be first in line for U2 tickets, but then gets tangled up with some shady characters in a wacky off-the-wall dash for cash that will keep you in stitches! shit, I wonder if that's on soon.

I'm not the best at drawing girls. I should really be doing it a lot more.

I JUST figured out how to upload pictures from my camera phone. I'm also trying to grow the coolest mustache and sideburns of all time, and maybe someday they'll even connect! oh boy! and even if they don't, at least I'm pretty.

dig the hot pink paint in my bedroom? yeah I bet you do.

Reaper? I hardly KNOW 'er!

yeah I thought it sounded pretty funny at first, but perhaps it bears too much of an auditory resemblence to another unfortunate word. but HEY! in any event, here's a work in progress from what will be my newest Threadless sub, "Death Rides A Tractor." I sure worked my way into a corner with the staging of the scythe, but I'll figure it out. because I'm a rockstar.

and a redraw of something I sketched in somebody's sketchbook. don't Care Bear Stare, it's not nice.

now enjoy Megadeth's hi-lariously fun cover of No More Mr. Nice Guy from the soundtrack to Wes Craven's 1989 horror flick "Shocker" (it's okay to like it because Alice fucking Cooper himself "raps" on another track on the album, by a metal supergroup called The Dudes of Wrath, which featured KISS's Paul Stanley and Motley Crue's Tommy Lee). that ends your trivia lesson for today! now go forth and rock.

Monday, September 24, 2007

You're the right kind of sinner, to release my inner fantasy!

HEY YOU GUYYYYYYYSSS!!! how the hell have you been, friends? I've been dying to update, but I've either been out of town or tomcatting around the great city of Toledo. but seeing as I'm here right here right NOW... posters and lurkers alike please click here to go to Designbyhumans.com and vote and comment on my There is Only ZUUL design. help a brother out, because I'm not so sure it has a chance anywhere else!

I drew something this weekend that I think is PRETTY FUCKING SWEET, but I'm not allowed to show it yet. so for now, here's a preview from an animated short/game that I've been working on ever since I got back from chicago last week.

and here's some Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (my favorite band EVER) in case my complete and total Bad-Assitude comes into question for drawing little fucking hearts and having feelings.

There Gozer the Neighborhood!

good golly miss molly! I sure have been getting a crapload of hits this week thanks to Drawn! maybe somebody passing through could tell me what T-shirt company might want to buy this SPOOKTACULAR design.

Friday, September 07, 2007

So I got THAT going for me... which is nice.

AAAGHHH! holy crap! :D the lovely and talented Jared Chapman of Drawn! The Illustration and Cartooning Blog totally floored me yesterday when he said he'd like to feature me on the blog. this is so freakin cool for me since I've been religiously reading Drawn for about 8375293892 million years or so, and have discovered so many amazing artists because of it!

I spent a few minutes taking another stab at the ZUUL T-shirt design last night. and since I desperately want the chance to wear this badboy, I vowed to have it finished and ready to shop around to the T-shirt companies by this weekend. so this here is a quick draft. also, since I like your moxy, here's a few more recent sketches. right there. underneath. no. to the left. no! MY left. yeah there you go.

Bread is up for voting at Threadless!

My Threadless.com Submission

so be a pal and go vote a 5 and $ for "The High Self-Esteem of Sliced Bread!" and I tell you what, my friends, I'm in such a good mood today that I want all of you to feel this good too! so I'll even include this totally fucking inspirational Reading Rainbow song by the amazing Ben Vereen. can you hear it? it sounds like music to me!

Wednesday, August 15, 2007

Well... better late than never.

hey that's me! kinda. I drew up a pretty cool new avatar based on the coolest sequel logo ever, and in a surprisingly short amount of time. plus FUCK YEAH! 2 Ghostbusters-themed posts in a row.

and here's a new T-shirt design called "The High Self-Esteem of Sliced Bread" that will be up for voting soon. of course, longtime spacesick fans (aka: Me) will notice that this cute little son of a bastard is based on last year's runaway success, Food With Faces: The Movie.

which can be seen here, via Asian bootleg DVD.

in any event, I'll be sure to let you (aka: Me) know when it's up, so you can pretend to give it a high score! in the meantime, just sit back and relax with the soothing New Jack sounds of Bobby Brown. "you-you-you know it!"

Thursday, June 28, 2007

Back off, man. I'm a scientist.

Be the envy of all the other Sumerian demons in your neighborhood with this brand-new, totally bitchin' customizable T-shirt by spacesick! So grab your sharpie, write your name in the blank, put on your favorite Ray Parker Jr. song, and let the fun begin!

And just for "fun," here's an early version of the design (with a BAD-ASS ghost) that I loved but thought might be too busy for a T-shirt.

I just started shopping this around to the T-shirt companies today! So until one of them gets back to me with a deal, I'm gonna go down to the Hostess store and wait in line for the new iTwinkies to come out.

"Yes, it's true. This man has no dick."

"Since I've joined these men I've seen shit that'll turn you WHITE!"

"Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... mass hysteria!"

Classic!

Pink Girlie

just a random flash sketch while I sat around and listened to Prince and Siouxsie and Ozzy and Aerosmith and Alice and and and!

I don't know if it's possible to be half 80's glam and half rollergirl bettie, I don't remember if horn piercings (which I've only seen once) actually look like that, and I don't get why goth chicks can't stand to be around me when all I want to do IS LOVE THEM!!!1153#&**!!!

all I know is...

that this chick probably wouldn't do me either. but she might suckerpunch me in the taint. which would actually be pretty cool.

am I right, ladies? OH YEAH! high five!

buttsecks.

it's just like my grandpappy used to say...

"the buttsecks you want, you ain't gettin,
and the buttsecks you're gettin, you don't want."

it's as true today as it was last october.

and I've got news! I'll tell you when I find out if I'm allowed to tell you. also after I go return "throw momma from the train."

edit: my Yakov All Trades design will soon be available from the good folks over at LuckyThreadz. it's my first print ever. hey ma, look at me! I'm a DESIGNER! now I can trace things and apply different color pallets to them and stuff! ironically! :D yay me! *hug* *kiss, with a little bit of tongue*

I Want My MTV! The Video Companion to spacesick's Awesomely 80's Halloween Horror METALFEST

as an unexpected drinking game: do a shot every time I mention Ozzy Osbourne or Alice Cooper!

1) Alice Cooper - He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask)
from Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986)

I love this fucking song with all my heart and eternal soul. no joke. Alice always had the most fun lyrics, and this badboy is no exception. and that includes "ch-ch-ch! ah-ah-ah!" when you check out the video, watch Jason get buddy-buddy with Alice and then totally sike him out at the end.

---

2) Dokken - Dream Warriors
from A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987)

no way... Patricia Arquette as an unlikely hero with PSYCHIC ABILITIES?! I refuse to believe it. hey little Mitch Fun Fact™ here: for the longest time, my friend and I had a call-and-response thing going where every time he would mention this movie's title, I had to promptly reply by singing "DREEEEEAM WARRRIOOORRRRS!" it was fun. kinda. you don't care.

check out Dokken beat down Freddy with the power of metal. and stick around til it finishes for an hilarious surprise ending. shazam!

---

3) The Dudes of Wrath - Shocker
from Shocker (1989)

best supergroup name ever! the Dudes were a fucking powerhouse of metal that included Kiss's Paul Stanley and that one guy from "Tommy Lee Goes to College."

---

4) Motorhead - Hellraiser
from Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth (1992)

okay, this I just gotta mention, because it's too cool for school. originally released by Ozzy Osbourne on his 1991 No More Tears album (one of my favorites, bitches!), this awesome motherfucker was penned by the unholy trinity of Ozzy, Zakk Wylde, and Lemmy himself, and re-recorded by Motorhead for Hellraiser III. check out the awesomely early-90's metal video that ends with Lemmy kicking Pinhead's ass in poker. BAM!

---

5) 45 Grave - Party Time (Zombie Version)
from The Return of the Living Dead (1985)

off one of the best horror soundtracks of the 80's, loaded with punk, new wave, and metal goodness. and the movie freakin rules! basically if you haven't seen this one, then we can't be friends. so come over and let's go rent it, or else gimme back my "Please Hammer, Don't Hurt 'Em" tape.

---

6) AC/DC - Who Made Who?
from Maximum Overdrive (1986)

when the trucks of the world decide to rise up and fight back against us humans, Emelio Estevez is our only hope. obviously! and an AC/DC greatest hits record is the only possibile soundtrack. a high five to that crazy bastard Stephen King too (<3), otherwise we might not have been blessed with the addition of this new single to the AC/DC arsenal.

---

7) Dramarama - Anything, Anything
from A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988)

fast and whiney. and totally 80's. Learn it. Know it. Live it.

---

8) The Fat Boys - Are You Ready for Freddy
from A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988)

yeah I'll be ready right after I return Krush Groove to the video store.

---

9) J. Geils Band - Fright Night
from Fright Night (1985)

every time I see Fright Night, I love it even more. and the J. Geils theme song doesn't hurt, I tells ya.

---

10) The Dickies - Killer Klowns from Outer Space
from Killer Klowns from Outer Space (1988)

not one of my favorite flicks, but a damn fun tune.

---

11) - Divinyls - Back to the Wall
from A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master (1988)

Chrissie Amphlett is just plain yummy.

---

12) Tim Cappello - I Still Believe
from The Lost Boys (1987)

with the voice of an angel, the taught, rippling muscles of lesbian bodybuilder, and a gladiator costume of such masculine beauty rarely seen outside of Wrestlemania itself, it's no wonder Tim Cappello's performance in The Lost Boys was more late night Cinemax than music video. this song always had a special place in my heart. speaking of which... brb, I've gotta find my old Red Shoe Diaries tapes that I recorded off tv before I could legally buy actual porn.

---

13) Ozzy Osbourne - Secret Loser
from The Wraith (1986)

I know my calculus. it says Charlie Sheen's drag racing ghost + "The Prince of Fucking Darkness" = good clean fun!

---

14) Ian Hunter - Good Man in a Bad Time
from Fright Night (1985)

can you say "smoothest motherfucking vampire alive?!" you could, but that would be a misnomer. because vampires are the undead, stupid. even so, any ancient evil who still hits the clubs has got to know where the action is. don't believe me? well watch as Jack Skellington himself seduces Marcy D'Arcy right in front of her Mannequin 2: On the Move boyfriend. and in that sweater, no less! now that's balls right there. vampire balls.

I wouldn't reccomend watching the entire clip, however, as its intensity has been known to induce mass amounts of jean creaming.

---

15) Michael Sembello - Rock Until You Drop
from The Monster Squad (1987)

oh yes. the "She's A Maniac" guy. Wolfman's got nards, indeed!

---

16) Metropolis - The Darkest Side of the Night
from Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)

this song is so cold and empty, and it scares the fucking shit out of me. there, I said it. and even though most of the flick is snoozeville (they don't even GET to New York til the end of the movie), I still manage to catch it every year or so around Halloween time.

---

17) Autograph - You Can't Hide from the Beast Inside
from Fright Night (1985)

the same guys who told you to "Turn Up The Radio" now inform you about the dangers of Restless Leg Syndrome. or something. in any event, it rocks.
---

18) Fastway - Trick or Treat
from Trick or Treat (1986)

look! somebody was nice enough to put up Ozzy's cameo as a crusading anti-rock televangelist. thanks, youtube!

---

19) Megadeth - No More Mr. Nice Guy
from Shocker (1989)

"me, a nice guy? yeah righhhhht!" haha. love.

"But Mitch!" you must be imploring, "I thought you worship the ground Alice Cooper bleeds on! what the hell are you doing pimping out a goofy cover of the man's most famous work?" well that's simple, young one; it's because Megadeth is Megadeth. AND it's okay to like it because Alice fucking Cooper himself "raps" on another track on the album, by a certain metal supergroup called The Dudes of Wrath. you've got to hear the rest of the album, if not for that one track! like omigod srsly!

---

20) Gerard McMann - Cry Little Sister (Theme from The Lost Boys)
from The Lost Boys (1987)

you know it, you love it. the song that I like to imagine countless young goth chicks lost their virginity to: Cry Little Sister.

also, I heard this played at a strip club once. ONCE. and it was awesome. mmm... vampire boobies.

---

21) The Ramones - Pet Sematary
from Pet Sematary (1989)

desperate, hopeless, and chilling. this song is so perfect, there's no need for words. just FEEL.

---

22) Goo Goo Dolls - I'm Awake Now
from Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991)

(mostly) pre-wuss rock Goo Goo Dolls! man... I remember them coming to town back around this time, and even though I was too young to go to the concert, some cop friend of my dad's snagged me a backstage autograph. woohoo! I hope I still have that around here somewheres. maybe I could it pawn it to help pay for tickets to the Ozzy Osbourne & Rob Zombie show in Detroit at Joe Louis Arena on Tuesday, December 18 (drink, bitch!).

lol @ Alice Cooper making it into the video towards the end there

---

Bonus Tracks:

Do The Freddy (1987)

"I'm Freddy, and this is for YOU! AHAHAHA!"

Operating Instructions for Your New Freddy™ (see fig 1a)

1) Kick your feet up.
2) Swing your arms up too.
3) Move your head both ways like you see him do.
4) Then jump 3 feet to the swinging beat of The Freddy.
5) Make Johhny Depp's matress eat him alive and spew a torrential river of blood all over the ceiling (optional).

just listen.

---

Weird Al Yankovic - Nature Trail to Hell (1984)

oh you used to listen to him and you know it.
