Death of a Tablet (2005-2009)

Sad times. :( My beloved tablet, my first, my always, my everything- passed on just now when I was forced to bash it violently against my desk. Just once, though! Quick and painless, while I told it about the rabbits. Otherwise I know I'd keep drawing* out the inevitable. We'd been playing this fun game lately where it would hide from the computer while I was drawing something important, and I'd unplug it and plug it back in until I'd almost be in tears from frustration. Then it would pop back up, as if to say "surprise!" :D But when it got caught in an unbreakable USB recognition loop, I knew it was time to say goodbye.

The good news is that within minutes, I had already whipped out my credit card and ordered a new one. I know it can't replace my first tablet, but I bet we'll have fun together! And who knows... Perhaps in time, it will come to be just as special to me.

Teddy Bears and Karate Classes (and Tits)

People seemed to like my silly Mario Brothers Plumbing ad, so I figured I'd try another one! And if anyone knows whether these particular clipart masterpieces came from a professional set, I'd love to know so I can give credit.

This is just a quick mock up of my new "HILARIOUS" TypeTees.com slogan. If it is actually chosen for print, they will pick an artist more talented than myself to draw the letters. Probably someone British.

Click the image above to vote! :D Then go do other things. It's Friday, for god's sake.

I would have liked to finish this masterpiece all in one night, but I was interrupted mid-tit* when someone tried to break into my house... with me IN it. Don't worry, I'm okay. But I'm too wired to draw now. Stay tuned! Unless you don't wanna see the rest.

Blacula Poster Available Now at Mondo Tees!

Alright, guys. This one has been in the works/done for a while now, but I've been holding off on blërging about it until they were finally available for purchase. :D

I went gaga over the Alamo Drafthouse poster series the minute I first discovered it on flickr. So when they asked if I'd be interested in doing one, I jumped at the opportunity! It was a blast and I hope we can do it again sometime. Thanks to Mitch Putnam and the awesome Tyler Stout for their help throughout! Ooh that rhymed.

This 18" x 24" screenprint is available now at Mondo Tees for $25 US! And if you order one, tell 'em Spacesick sent ya!

Please Stand By

To improve functionality for readers, I have sacrificed my old blogger template and all the perfect little tweaks I made to it over the years. I think I'll miss my hilarious "Collect all __!" comments label most of all, not to mention the little Centipede arcade game mushrooms that accented the place so well. But I think I made the right decision. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers at this trying time. :(

Vector Triangle Animation Test

I'd like to do a series of little fun-sized episodes with this guy, to really expand my horizons and force my lazy ass to finish something I'm not getting paid for. I figure that I'll sketch everything out really quickly in Flash like this, then render each frame in Illustrator and plop this guy down in a fully-realized vector world. kinda like this awesome Vectrex commercial, but with considerably less Finns.

Game Over, Man... GAME OVER!

FINALLY! After what seemed like an eternity, I'm finally allowed to tell the world that I was invited to be a guest artist for Kyle Stark's weekly webcomic Guinea Pig Theater! After practically begging for it, of course.

Who knows why he reenacts his favorite movies using a delightful (and rarely union) cast of guinea pigs. I sure don't. It doesn't make any SENSE, maaaan. But it's so movie geektastic that I just plain DIG it.

I was stoked to get the chance to do a guest spot and I'm glad it turned out looking pretty snazzy. Check out the Guinea Pig Theater archives and all the super awesome things he must be saying about some OTHER Mitch at the official blog! Happy reading! :D
